Introduction to Springs

 Common types
1. Compression Spring
-  Shape  : It is usually spiral in shape, and both ends can be flat or hook-shaped.
-  Function  : Withstand compressive force and be used for buffering and storing energy.
-  Application  : Widely used in automotive suspension systems, shock absorbers, furniture, mechanical devices, etc.
-  Feature  : During the compression process, the length of the spring will shorten to store energy.

2. Tension Spring
-  Shape  : Usually spiral in shape, with hooks or rings at both ends.
-  Function  : Withstand tensile force, used for stretching and storing energy.
-  Application  : Commonly used in doors and Windows, mechanical devices, fitness equipment, etc.
-  Feature  : During the stretching process, the length of the spring will increase to store energy.

3. Torsion Spring
-  Shape  : Usually spiral in shape, with arms or hooks at both ends.
-  Function  : Withstand torque, used for twisting and storing energy.
-  Application  : Commonly used in door hinges, mechanical watches, washing machines, etc.
-  Feature  : During the twisting process, both ends of the spring rotate around the axis to store energy.

 Design & Manufacture
1.  Design  : The design of springs needs to take into account factors such as their working conditions, load types, and material properties. When designing, parameters such as the size, stiffness and fatigue life of the spring need to be calculated.
2.  Manufacturing  : The manufacturing of springs typically involves steps such as material selection, forming, heat treatment, and surface treatment. The forming methods include cold drawing, hot rolling, etc. Heat treatment can enhance the strength and toughness of springs.

1.  Prestress  : During installation, springs usually need to be prestressed to ensure their normal operation.
2.  Fatigue life  : Springs are prone to fatigue failure under repeated loads, and their fatigue life needs to be taken into account during design.
3.  Environmental Factors  : The material and surface treatment of the spring need to be selected based on the working environment to prevent corrosion and wear.

Packaging & Shipping

Packaging materials

Small metal stamping parts are commonly made of plastic bags, plastic boxes, etc.

Medium-sized stamping parts, paper boxes or cartons are commonly used, which can provide certain cushioning protection and are environmentally friendly.

Large or heavy stamping parts, pallet packaging can provide better support and protection, facilitating forklift handling.

In special circumstances, metal packaging is used, such as when higher protective strength is required or when moisture-proof and rust-proof requirements are needed.

 

Packaging technology

Bulk packaging: The stamped parts are directly placed into the packaging container, which is suitable for products with regular shapes and not easy to be damaged.

Pallet packaging: Place the stamped parts on pallets and then seal them with plastic film or cartons for easy stacking and transportation.

Tape and reel packaging: For some small stamping parts, such as electronic components, tape or reels are used for packaging to facilitate automated assembly.

Cushioning protection: Add cushioning materials such as foam and sponge inside the package to prevent the stamped parts from being damaged due to collision during transportation.

A: If you don't have any drawing,you can send us your sample, we will scan it and make 2D and 3D drawing first, then make sample for you.
