Introduction to Composition Stator
- Stator core : The stator core is one of the main components of the stator, usually made by stacking silicon steel sheets. Silicon steel sheets are a special type of steel with excellent magnetic permeability. These silicon steel sheets are insulated from each other. The purpose of doing this is to reduce eddy current losses. Eddy current loss is the energy loss caused by the induction of eddy currents in the iron core by an alternating magnetic field.
- Stator winding : The stator winding is the key part of the motor that generates the magnetic field. It is a coil wound with insulated wires. In AC motors, the stator windings usually adopt three-phase windings. When three-phase alternating current is fed into the stator winding, a rotating magnetic field is generated.
